Just under 3 million viewers tuned in to the start of the Royal Wedding TV coverage on Friday night.
BBC One's They're Getting Married in the Morning at 7PM last night was watched by 2.8 million viewers.
The ceremony itself takes place today, with coverage across BBC, ITV and Sky airing from 9AM to as late as 3PM.
The viewing figures for the 2018 Royal Wedding ceremony will be revealed tomorrow (Sunday). 2011's Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton was watched by just over 13 million on BBC One and up to 6 million on ITV.
Meanwhile last night, Coronation Street topped the night's numbers with 5.8 million viewers and 5.9 million for its two episodes. Emmerdale had 5.1 million while EastEnders' latest episode interested 4.7 million.
On BBC One, game show The Button continued to struggle with just 1.4 million viewers but 3.4 million tuned in for Have I Got News For You. It bettered ITV in the 9PM hour with two million watching Lethal Weapon.
Later on, The Graham Norton Show had 2.9 million viewers in the late night slot on BBC One.
On Channel 4, just under 3 million caught the latest episode of Gogglebox, putting in a strong performance at 9PM. After, Friday Night Dinner continued with just over a million viewers.
On BBC Two, The Bridge's latest instalment was caught by 1.2 million while a million watched Channel 5's royal doc Britain's Favourite Royal.
