ITV won the night with Midsomer Murders’ latest episode pulling in 4.7 million viewers between 8PM and 10PM.
Earlier, Little Big Shots continued with 2.1 million viewers, rising 400,000 viewers on last week’s series low.
On BBC One, Countryfile managed 4.6 million, up 600,000 on last Sunday on the Bank Holiday Weekend.
Sue Perkins then took over from 8PM for the TV Baftas.
Winners of the top gongs included Casualty, Love Island, Britain’s Got Talent and Blue Planet II. You can see the full list of Bafta TV Award winners here.
Two hours of coverage from the ceremony on BBC One interested an average of 3.5 million, down 200,000 viewers on last year.
