Saturday Night Takeaway’s 2018 series was the most watched since the show’s revival.
The series finale on Saturday night saw an average audience of 6.7 million tune in to watch Dec wrap up the run.
The show was up 700,000 viewers on last year and 600,000 on the year before that. It was in fact Takeaway’s most watched finale since 2013.
On average, Saturday Night Takeaway saw an audience of 7.3 million viewers.
This was up 500,000 viewers on average on 2017 and the most watched series since its revival.

In the last episode of the series, Dec once again hosted the show solo.
The series finale aired live from Florida with Dec fronting the show alongside regular sidekicks Scarlett Moffat and Stephen Mulhern.
It follows Dec’s usual co-host Ant McPartlin stepping down from TV work to seek treatment in rehab.
In a speech after the live final show to the crowd in Florida, Dec said: “Thanks for all the love and support, it’s been a series tinged with… well…
“It’s tinged with sadness.”
He then asked (via The Sun newspaper): “Can you all give a one round of applause for Ant who is at home.”
“Thank you so much, I know he will appreciate that a great, great deal,” Dec added.
Hollywood actress Denise Richards was the star guest announcer for the final episode at the weekend.
Meanwhile, British musician Craig David made an appearance and US singer Jason Derulo also joined the show Stateside.
One nation was crowned in the final of ‘Sofawatch’ and the Rembrandts performed karaoke classic I’ll Be There Fore You in ‘Singalong Live’.
Stephen Mulhern took his pop-up gameshow stateside in a very special edition of ‘In For a Penny’, and Scarlett Moffat was on hand to make sure that the ‘Place on the…’ winners had an experience they’ll never forget.
