ITV’s new drama Bancroft finished with over 4 million viewers in last night’s ratings (Thursday, December 14, 2017).

Bancroft began on Monday night with 5.5 million viewers but fell to 4.2 million for its second episode on Tuesday.


The stripped four part series dipped on Thursday night to 3.9 million against The Apprentice, but rebounded to 4.4 million for the final instalment yesterday evening.

The show beat Love, Lies and Records in the 9PM slot, with the BBC One drama interesting 2.8 million viewers.

Earlier, The Apprentice spin-off Why I Fired Them had just 2 million viewers in the 8PM hour, compared to the more than 4 million watching Paul O’Grady’s For the Love of Dogs.

In the soaps, Emmerdale topped the night’s viewing figures with 6.3 million and 5.9 million for its two episodes. EastEnders had 5.5 million.

Elsewhere, The Crystal Maze’s Celebrity special for Stand Up To Cancer had 1.1 million viewers on Channel 4.
