Big Brother on the other hand stayed well below a million viewers, with the two shows overlapping for 20 minutes.

Away from the reality rivalry, on BBC One last night EastEnders continued with 4.4 million viewers (clashing with Emmerdale) followed by Holby City with 4.1 million. Broken climbed 100,000 viewers for its penultimate episode at 9PM, interesting 2.9 million.

Over on ITV, Emmerdale had 5.7 million viewers for its hour long special, before a Midsomer Murders repeat interested just 2.3 million.
