The One Love Manchester concert has officially become the most watched TV show of 2017 so far.
One Love Manchester was held on Sunday 4 June at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground to honour and raise vital funds for the victims and families who were tragically affected by the Manchester attack after Ariana Grande’s show last month.
The concert featured performances by Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Take That and Niall Horan, with added acts including Little Mix, Robbie Williams and Black Eyed Peas.
TV coverage of the event saw an average audience of 10.9 million viewers on the night and now official figures have seen that number rise to 11.63 million.
That makes it the most watched show of the year to date - just - beating Broadchurch's final which had 11.61 million viewers in April.
Britain's Got Talent ranks in third with a top audience of 11.51 million for its latest series which concluded last weekend.
Whether or not the concert can keep its title by the end of the year remains to be seen. Last year saw the Great British Bake Off, Strictly Come Dancing, and I'm A Celebrity post bigger numbers with all three shows still to air in 2017.
