1.4 million viewers watched Game of Thrones on Sky Atlantic on Monday... at 2AM in the morning.

The bumper late night audience tuned in for the second episode of the new series with a further 830,000 watching the 9PM prime time repeat for a total audience of 2.2 million.

The mega ratings are huge for the pay TV channel and the early morning programme outrated a lot of shows on free to air rivals.

The 2AM figure beat all of Channel 5's offerings in the evening and also eclipsed The Food Chain and Posh Neighbours At War on Channel 4.

The Game Of Thrones viewing figures were also close to triple the numbers that Plebs achieved on ITV2 (480,000) and Made In Chelsea managed on E4 (430,000).

Meanwhile, Leicester's football triumph saw the make or break match between Chelsea and Tottenham score more big numbers for Sky.

An average audience of 1.7 million tuned in with a peak audience of 3 million as Leicester fans hoped for - and got - a draw between the two sides.

Elsewhere, The Island with Bear Grylls concluded its latest run with 1.5 million viewers (excluding +1)
