The X Factor 2013 beat Strictly Come Dancing in last night's telly ratings.

Strictly dominated its ITV rival on Saturday night, with a lead of more than a million viewers.

But The X Factor scored a narrow victory yesterday when the two shows went head to head again.

The X Factor averaged a solid if rather unspectacular 8.4 million viewers for its final judges' houses show between 7:10PM and 9PM.

A peak audience of over 10 million were tuned in as the X Factor 2013 final 12 were announced.

Strictly Come Dancing wasn't too far behind however, putting up much more of a fight than The X Factor did in the opposite situation on Saturday.

The first results show of the BBC One series, which saw Tony Jacklin eliminated, had an average audience of 8.2 million from 7:20PM through till 8PM.

Sunday’s pre-recorded Results show featured a performance from Matt Goss, singing ‘When Will I Be Famous’.

Both The X Factor and Strictly continue this Saturday and Sunday night, and this time they'll both be airing live episodes.
