U&GOLD is set to give Only Fools and Horses fans a real treat in 2026.
The channel has announced a new two-part special marking the sitcom’s 45th anniversary.
Titled Only Fools and Horses: The Lost Archive, the new show is packed with never-seen-before footage found deep in the archives from over 10 classic episodes, including favourites like The Jolly Boys’ Outing and Mother Nature’s Son.
The series promises more than just a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
Sir David Jason said: “The love for Only Fools has never faded. It’s incredible to see how many people still hold it close to their hearts. Revisiting these rediscovered moments reminded me just how special the show was – and still is. It’s incredible to be able to share them now.”
The production team have digitally restored scenes from original 16mm negatives, giving us the chance to watch the cast in HD for the first time in some of the show’s most loved episodes.
We can look forward to a closer look at Boycie and Mike having a laugh at Rodney’s expense, as well as Del Boy’s typically over-the-top announcements on the coach in The Jolly Boys’ Outing.
In-depth interviews see Sir David Jason, Tessa Peake-Jones, Gwyneth Strong, Sue Holderness, Steven Woodcock and Denis Lill revisit their time in Peckham – reacting to long-lost scenes and paying tribute to the show’s creator, John Sullivan.
Behind-the-scenes stories come from contributors like Mike Jones, Perry Aghajanoff, Chris Wadsworth and director Tony Dow.
Some of the new finds include material cut for time from episodes such as He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Uncle, and never-broadcast scenes from the likes of Class of ’62 – said to feature Del and Rodney in a now-rediscovered nightclub scene.
Fans will also see a behind-the-scenes look at the Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb’s repeated retakes while filming Miami Twice – a logistical headache, as Del and Rodney were sent up and down the river for just the right shot.
