Janet Devlin's dad has revealed how the 16-year-old singer gets up at 6am every morning to rehearse and practice her singing for the show. Speaking after Janet's audition aired on Saturday night's show, her dad Aquinas Devlin said how he hoped viewers would get behind the youngster.
More than 11 million viewers watched as Janet blew away the judges with her rendition of Elton John's 'Your Song' at the weekend.
Kelly Rowland told her: "Oh my goodness, I am completely entranced by your voice. It is so beautiful. You could have heard a pin drop in here, it was so silent. Because you came in here so nervous, it makes me love you even more. It was a wonderful audition."
Speaking to the Irish Independent, dad Aquinas said: "She a hard worker and I hear she's up at 6am practicing and rehearsing at the moment."
He revealed: "She has even turned the living room into a sort of recording studio. It's there she does all her singing and recording and uploading to YouTube."
The proud father continued: "She's taken part in loads of competitions -- she's a winner and she's a trier -- and I hope people will see that in her.
"It would be great for people to get behind her."
Meanwhile a source told the newspaper that the youngster's shy attitude is not put on for cameras. "She's not arrogant. She just gets on with it and makes the best of her talent," the insider said.
They added: "We won't have any problems with her as she gets bigger. She'll be very popular among the viewers because as well as having a show-stopping talent, she will keep her feet firmly on the ground."
