Former X Factor star Cheryl Cole is set to team up with David Guetta on her third solo album, it has been claimed. According to the Daily Mirror, Chezza's US manager Will.i.am is determined to make her a success in the states, with or without The X Factor USA.
The Black Eyed Peas star, who last year signed the former Girls Aloud singer to his vanity label, has lined up a "string of collaborations" for her new record, due out later this year.
After being dumped from the American version of The X Factor - and refusing Simon Cowell's offer to return to the UK show - Cheryl has thrown herself into work and recording the new album.
A source told the newspaper this morning: “Cheryl will be a top solo star in the US, if Will has anything to do with it. The man is so well connected, and he sleeps, breathes and eats music.
“He has a studio at home in which he is trying out new sounds for Cheryl. He wants the best and is very picky.
“David is an old friend and has produced some of the best dance anthems of the past few years, so it’s a good place to start.”
David teased: “I made a song the other day and it was such a good fit for [Will.i.am] and his artists. We’re always in touch.”
Cheryl is also due to star in new movie What To Expect When You’re Expecting, and be involved in the new series of Glee and How I Met Your Mother.
She'll also feature on The X Factor USA from next month as a guest judge.
