Cheryl Cole and Derek Hough to star in Dirty Dancing remake?!

Even though they've split up, Cheryl Cole and former boyfriend Derek Hough are set to become very intimate with one another once again - as they work together on a remake of Dirty Dancing! According to The Sun, Derek is in the running to play the male lead and is "desperate” for Cheryl to join him.

The paper claims that Derek is already a shoe in to play Johnny Castle, portrayed by Patrick Swayze in the original 80's movie, and wants Cheryl to play Frances 'Baby' Houseman, first played by Jennifer Grey.

A source told the tabloid: "Derek submitted a DVD of him dancing with Cheryl at her O2 show when she supported The Black Eyed Peas last year. He wanted producers to see their chemistry.

"He also put in a copy of Cheryl's video for her single Parachute, to show how good a dancer she is."

It comes just days after it was revealed that Cheryl is to star in new blockbuster 'What To Expect When You’re Expecting' - as a reality telly judge.

But a ‘film source’ said that the small cameo wasn't the sign of a move into acting for the Girls Aloud star. “This is a bit of fun for Cheryl. She will film the scenes imminently and is really looking forward to it," they said.

“It doesn’t mean she suddenly wants to become actress,” the source explained. “It was just an opportunity that has come up while she has been having some down time and she thought it would be great fun to take part.”

However according to the Daily Mirror, Cheryl's manager is hoping to see the Geordie singer star in more TV shows, including guest star roles in US hits Glee and How I Met Your Mother.

A source said: "Cheryl’s US dream is far from over. Her people are in talks with executives involved with Glee and How I Met Your Mother with a view to featuring Cheryl in an episode."
