New X Factor 2011 star Tulisa Contostavlos has said that becoming a judge on the show was easy - but she's worried about keeping her new job! Speaking to The Independent last week, Tulisa added that Simon Cowell hired her because "He wanted someone a bit rebellious."
Revealing how she got the job back in May, Tulisa explained: "I met the producers and then flew to LA to meet Simon.
"He said he'd checked up on my stuff and liked what I was about, even though I can't really imagine him watching six episodes of Being N-Dubz."
Asked whether she was nervous about the first X Factor 2011 show this Saturday, Tulisa replied: "I'd be cocky if I weren't."
She added: "It's not getting the job that's hard, it's keeping it."
And with Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue both leaving the panel this year it’s not hard to see why Tulisa’s worried.
But despite taking on a role on the highest rated TV show in the UK - and pocketing a £500,000 fee for it - Tulisa insisted that she wasn't going to change
"I just want to live a normal life," she told the newspaper, admitting: "Two days ago I flew Easyjet back from Magaluf."
Meanwhile the N-Dubz star confessed she was looking forward to getting some time away from the group: "Even before the X Factor we were all going to take a year out.
"I'm finally going to define myself, and I no longer have to worry: where is Dappy? What's he doing? If he now messes up, it's off his own back."
The X Factor 2011 starts on August 20.
