Cheryl and Ashley Cole are now a "sealed deal", The Sun claims today, with the pair organising a family get together to "clear the air" between their relatives. The newspaper reports that the newly reunited couple hope the meal will allow their friends and family to sort out any issues.
The pair had divorced in May of last year following claims of cheating by Ashley in the press, but following a lengthy reconciliation over the past few months they're well and truly back together.
A pal told the tabloid: "Cheryl and Ashley are a sealed deal - but they need this dinner to clear the air between the families. There's still bad feeling, particularly on Cheryl's side."
It's sure to be an awkward dinner, with Cheryl's mum said to be more than a tad against the couple getting back together. “When Cheryl mentioned she wanted to meet Ashley, Joan flew off the handle and said he was never going to change," a source told Closer magazine this week.
The source blabbed that Cheryl was initially upset by recent claims that Ashley had played away behind her back, but was quickly won around after the Chelsea star brought her some flowers.
“Cheryl was so angry when she first found out [about the stories],” they explained. “She said she didn’t care if she never set eyes on him again.
“But after messages from Ash and a huge bouquet of flowers, her resolve is weakening."
And with friends still unsure about whether Ashley will change his ways, Chezza hopes this dinner will show that they're truly in love.
“Her friends are unsure whether he [Ashley] even wants to be with her or just loves the chase,” the source added.
Meanwhile Cheryl has been dubbed one of the most boring celebs after becoming a recluse since her X Factor USA axe and reunion with Ashley.
“She is dull as ditchwater. She never does anything but lie by the pool, go to the gym and work," one source told the Mail On Sunday yesterday.
Another added: “She’ll work a red carpet because that promotes Brand Cheryl, but when she has nothing to sell, she is rather dull.”
However, we may be seeing Cheryl back on our TV screens again sooner than you think, with rumours suggesting that new X Factor judges Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos have teamed up with Louis Walsh to try and get Cheryl back on the show.
Louis reportedly text her: “We need the original glamour girl back.”
