Tulisa Contostavlos has followed in the footsteps of former X Factor judges Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell by having her teeth fixed for the show - spending a whopping £12,000 on a full set of pricey veneers to give her the perfect smile. It's the final step in the N-Dubz star's X Factor make over from 'chav' to classy.
A source told The Sun this morning: "Tulisa has not got bad teeth by any stretch of the imagination. She's hardly Austin Powers.
"She had a few probs when she was younger but nothing serious.
"Since she became famous she has become aware they are not perfectly aligned, so she decided to pay for a bit of help. It didn't come cheap but she's determined she will look the part."
The insider continued: "She has been going through some serious dental surgery over the last couple of weeks to get them right."
The paper claims that even despite the £12k price tag for the work, it includes a special discount for Tulisa as she's a celebrity!
Tulisa's new gnashers are the final step in the 23-year-old's dramatic transformation over the past few months since joining The X Factor. Bosses are said to have given the singer a £70,000 budget to revamp herself, after fears she wasn't looking the part!
"They want her to be the new nation’s sweetheart," a source said previously. "She looked too chavvy and cheap on the first-day auditions so producers gave her a bigger budget for clothes and styling."
But Tulisa yesterday revealed she was HATING her new look - which includes high heels and glam dresses.
"If it was up to me I’d come out in a tracksuit every day," she told the Daily Star.
We’d love to see Tulisa walk out on stage in the live shows wearing her sweats...
