New X Factor judge Gary Barlow has taken charge of the new look panel, although Louis Walsh's doesn't seem to mind! Described as calm and competitive - but confident, it sounds as though Take That star Gary has become the stand out judge of the show.
Speaking at the auditions, X Factor blabbermouth Sinitta told Closer magazine this week: "I thought I'd be comparing everyone, wondering if Gary Barlow was taking Simon's role, whether the girls would try to fit into Cheryl and Dannii's roles - but they're nothing like them."
In a rare insightful moment, Sinitta continued: "With Simon and Cheryl, you relied on that banter and flirtation. Plus, they'd be on one side and Dannii and Louis on the other.
"That wasn't there, but it’s actually very good."
Reviewing the new panel, Sinitta said Gary Barlow had taken charge of the fellow judges and even though Louis Walsh had been therefore eight years, it sounds as though he's just glad Simon Cowell has gone.
"Louis is no longer the punchbag, let's put it that way!" she commented. "He's very, very comfortable. He knows Gary and he' bonded with the girls
"Tulisa is super-confident, Kelly's sweet and Gary’s calm -but quite confident."
The X Factor UK 2011 starts on August 20.
