Former X Factor finalist Olly Murs has joked that Simon Cowell would be a tad mad if he ended up dating a contestant on this year's X Factor. Now host of ITV2 spin-off The Xtra Factor, Olly added however that even Simon wouldn't get in the way of "true love".
The chart topping singer joined the show this year alongside Caroline Flack, with the pair replacing Konnie Huq on programme.
While Olly may be getting up close and personal with this year's hopefuls behind the scenes, he insisted there was little chance of finding a girlfriend.
“I think Simon would be mad if I ended up getting it on with one of the contestants on this year’s show," he said.
Speaking to the Daily Star today, Olly continued “I suppose I should be professional now that I’m working on it, so I can definitely imagine Simon having a stern word with me.
“But would I go for it anyway? Well, I think I’d have to – you can’t stand in the way of true love, even if you’re Simon Cowell.”
Meanwhile the hunky Essex land revealed he's found dating even harder since finishing as runner up on The X Factor back in 2009.
“I found dating a little bit harder after the X Factor, but if anything, it’s even harder now," he said.
Olly added: “I barely go out, I’ve just been so busy.”
