Cher sold 66,315 to top the charts, with 30,000 units being sold in the first two days on sale. Despite a decline towards the end of the week, Cher was comfortably ahead of JLS with 13,000 sales between both X Factor finalists.
The achievement comes just over a year since Cher started her journey on The X Factor last summer.
Speaking about how she'll celebrate, Cher told The Sun this week: "I'll probably celebrate by having a night in with a Chinese and a glass of bubbly - because I'm 18 now so I can drink.
"And I might buy myself a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes."
Writing on Twitter and the youngster described the chart result as the best thing that had ever happened to her!
"I'm the happiest girl alive!" she wrote, "Thank you for supporting me, and buying the single! This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me!"
'Swagger Jagger' is the first track to be taken from Cher's debut album, due out in November. Speaking about the record, Cher praised her team - but wanted to make it clear her former X Factor mentor Cheryl made no contributions to the LP.
"Cheryl is not involved in making my album but it's cool. She's really busy and I get that. I have a brilliant team around me," Cher said.
"Simon calls me 'Trouble' all the time - he says, 'Hello, Trouble!' I'm comfortable around him and we just chat like normal people. We text each other now and again. He asks me how I am and that's really nice.
"I wouldn't say he worries about me because I'm a tough cookie but at the same time I've just turned 18 and I've been thrown into this crazy business."
