Simon Cowell has reportedly invited Brit superstar Adele to perform on the grand final of The X Factor 2011 at Wembley Arena later this year. According to the Daily Star Sunday, Adele was originally set to join Kelly or Tulisa at the judges' houses later this month.
The 23-year-old however had to back out due to clashes in her schedule, but Simon is keen to get the talented singer on the show, with plans for a performance at the final in December.
“Simon is desperate to get Adele involved on this year’s show," an X Factor source told the tabloid. “There’s no denying Adele is the biggest singer in the world right now and Simon wants her to appear on both the UK and US X Factors.
“He couldn’t get her for the judges’ houses stage, so he now wants her to sing with one of the contestants on the grand final in December.
"The final may be four months away but Simon knows he needs to move quickly to make sure Adele’s free. She is a massive fan of the show and even went to watch the US X Factor auditions earlier this year.”
Stars that have duetted with contestants on the final in the past have included Beyonce, Kylie Minogue, Will.i.am, Robbie Williams, Take That, Rihanna and Christina Aguilera.
Meanwhile producers are reportedly "struggling" to find top stars for the judges' houses stage of the show, to be filmed in early September. The newspaper reports that singer Jessie J has already turned down the chance to appear alongside Tulisa.
While the guests aren't confirmed however, the locations are, with the new look panel set to jet off to some of the most exotic locations ever.
The X Factor 2011 starts on August 20.
