Sinitta has said she was surprised by just how confident Tulisa Conostavlos was on The X Factor this year, having watched her at the 2011 auditions last month. Speaking to the Daily Mirror today, the 'So Macho' singer praised the N-Dubz star for not being intimidated having taken over from Cheryl Cole.
Speaking about the new look show - with judges Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa - Sinitta said the dynamics of The X Factor panel had changed.
“I’ve been to some of the auditions and whereas I didn’t miss them as such, it was like I was at a completely different show. And I liked it," she explained.
“I’d got used to watching the Tom and Jerry antics between Simon and Cheryl and Louis being bitchy and jealous, saying Cheryl was Simon’s little pet. Now all those dynamics are gone.”
And Tulisa in particular stood out to Sinitta.
“I was surprised at her confidence. She’s young and had big shoes to fill, so I thought she’d be intimidated but, no, she was going for it," she said.
Having been to this year's X Factor 2011 auditions we can't help but agree, Tulisa's been a very honest judge who's not at all afraid to put her view across and disagree with either her fellow judges or the audience.
The X Factor starts on August 20 on ITV1.
