Cheryl Cole has reportedly agreed to meet up and forgive Simon Cowell for the mess surrounding The X Factor USA, just so long as he gives her a "proper apology"! The Geordie singer wants the music mogul to say sorry for the stress he has put her through since May.
While Cheryl has admitted Simon was right to fire her, but the embarrassing public way that it happened has upset the Girls Aloud star.
Simon has apparently been "on a mission" to mend their friendship ever since Cheryl started ignoring calls from the X Factor boss.
A source revealed this week however Cheryl finally responded to his pleas.
"Simon contacted her and said: 'You owe it to yourself and your career to sort this out'," a source told Closer magazine.
"She replied saying she was still feeling wounded and betrayed, but then she came round, saying: 'OK, I'll meet you - but I want an apology'."
A pal of Simon's said that the he wasn't best pleased by Cheryl's insistence for him to say sorry!
"He couldn't believe she was being so stubborn and sticking to her guns at first," the friend told the magazine. "He was a bit taken back when she demanded a proper apology - he's not used to people laying down the law to him.
"But at the same time, he is desperate for Cheryl to talk to him again. he really misses her."
And the friend confirmed the pair were back on track: "They're going to meet up soon - Simon has offered to fly wherever she wants to meet him, even for just one evening. Cheryl has promised him she'll finally meet up and is going to put a date in her diary too."
