Former X Factor winner Shayne Ward has hit out at Simon Cowell this week for focusing too much on his TV shows rather than the artists they create and promote. Speaking to heat magazine, the hunky singer added that he rarely saw Cowell during his time with Syco.
After a successful few years after winning the reality series in 2005 - with his debut album shifting over 700,000 copies - Shayne was eventually dropped by Simon earlier this year, along with Joe McElderry. X Factor 2008 winner Alexandra Burke also left the label, moving to RCA records.
“Simon just focuses on his TV shows now and not his artists," Shayne complained to the magazine.
He added: “You can’t run a record label like that!”
The 26-year-old, who now stars in the Rock Of Ages on the West End, revealed: "People think he’s hands-on, but you just deal with his number two."
