Dermot O'Leary has described new X Factor 2011 judge Gary Barlow as a revelation on the show, surprising everyone from the cast and crew to the audience with his witty but tough attitude. With the new series just weeks away, Dermot added that Louis was enjoying being the most experienced member on the panel.
The Irish music mogul is joined by three new judges on this year's show; Gary Barlow, N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos and US singer Kelly Rowland.
Dermot said: "Louis is loving it. He's lapping up every moment of it."
But it sounds as though Gary is stealing his thunder!
"Gary has been a revelation," Dermot revealed. "I mean, it's witty, he's acerbic - and it's Gary Barlow! The families sometimes don't agree with his opinion and get a bit grumbly, but then they'll go: 'Well, it is Gary Barlow, so I suppose you can't argue with him'"
And hunky host Dermot confirmed reports from the auditions that Gary could be a bit of a meanie at times!
"When he needs to be honest, he can be honest. When he first started, everyone was thinking: 'Well, what's he gonna be like? Maybe like Simon?' but he's not like Simon at all, he's very much his own man. He's sat in Simon's chair and leans back quite a lot in a presidential manner, but other than that..."
The new look panel will make their debut later this month on ITV1.
