Syco boss Simon Cowell has given Britain's Got Talent 2011 winner Jai McDowall a record deal, almost 3 months after the series finished in June. The 24-year-old had been left uncertain about his future, with Simon signing runner up Ronan Parke just days after the competition ended.
The 12-year-old is already hard at working his debut album, due out later this year.
Now Jai McDowall will join him on Sony Music's books after Cowell offered the Scot the opportunity to record an album - which Jai unsurprisingly snapped up.
An insider said: "Jai was worried that he would be overshadowed by Ronan, but thankfully he's now got his own deal.
"Simon is creatively choosing songs for him and is working closely on his Royal Variety Show performance, which will be a great launch pad for him."
Jai also took home £100,000 after topping the public vote earlier this year and will perform on The Royal Variety Show in December.
