JLS become the UK's most successful reality act, taking over from Girls Aloud and Will Young

With JLS achieving their fifth number one with new single 'She Makes Me Wanna' yesterday, the four-piece group have become the UK's most successful reality act, data from the Official Charts Company shows. The former X Factor runners up have now notched up five number ones in less than 3 years.

The count surpasses that of Pop Idol and Popstars contestants Girls Aloud, Will Young and Gareth Gates, who each have four number ones to their names.

Fellow X Factor stars Alexandra Burke and Leona Lewis have both managed 3 number one hits in their careers.

Furthermore, not one of JLS' singles has yet to miss the Top 10, with the group managing 7 hit singles since releasing 'Beat Again' in the summer of 2009.

Of course, a count of number ones is only one way to measure success, in terms of sales and worldwide notability it's still Leona Lewis who leads the pack with sales in excess of 12 million across the world. It's going to take something to beat that...

JLS however are going to try. "We're not having a break until we get to ten albums, serious," Marvin Humes, who's currently dating The Saturdays star Rochelle Wiseman, told heat magazine.

Aston added: "Ten albums and ten tours. So seven more to go and then we'll take a year off."

JLS release their third album later this year.
