A hug from show host Dermot O'Leary is at least one consolation you are usually guaranteed to get if you fail to make it through on The X Factor, but it seems a although some of this year's wannabes are SO bad, Dermot doesn't want to go near them! He tells the Daily Star today the auditionees have been massacring pop songs over the past few months.
Dermot completed the auditions with new judges Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos, Gary Barlow, and long-standing judge Louis Walsh earlier this month - and it sounds as though it was tough work!
He said today: “This year the contestants have been mostly murdering Adele.
“And there are some people that I don’t want to hug when they get rejected. At least once in every city I say to myself: 'I don’t want to hug this person.'”
But while Dermot has found it hard to cope with the wacky contestants, the judges have taken it all in their stride.
Dermot told the tabloid: "The judges have been brilliant this year and Gary has been so interested in the whole process you can’t question his judgment."
and the cheeky telly host - who is reportedly paid £1 million a series - wants to know if he's being paid the most! "But am I the highest paid? I would like to know that. Nobody has told me."
