Kimberley Walsh has said she'll snub taking part in this year's X Factor in support of pal Cheryl Cole, following the Geordie singer's axe from the US version of the show in May. Kimberley, who has moved into presenting since Girls Aloud split up, previously appeared on the reality series as both a mentor and a host.
The sexy songstress helped Cheryl Cole choose her live finalists in 2008, with Chezza eventually mentoring Alexandra Burke to win on her first year of the show. Then in 2009, Kimberley fronted live coverage on the series from eventual winner Joe McElderry's home town in the North east.
Speaking to Buzz magazine this week, Kimberley revealed she won’t be part of this year’s X factor out of solidarity with Cheryl Cole... or maybe she just wasn't asked, we'll never know!
“I won’t be helping out at the judges’ house this year, I only did that in support of Cheryl," she said.
Kimberley was originally rumoured to be presenting Xtra Factor this year alongside T4 host Matt Edmondson, but reportedly pulled out with just a week to go after Cheryl's stateside axe.
The former Suck My Pop host - who currently appears in new children's movie 'Horrid Henry 3D' - tells the free magazine however that she has high hopes for the future, “I’m looking forward to doing more presenting though – I’ve got lots coming up," she says.
We hope those plans include Cheryl, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle - if she can find her passport...
