At first we were a tad surprised to hear that Cheryl Cole had been snubbing Cher Lloyd, but now we can see why - the 18-year-old reckons Chezza's group Girls Aloud are too cheesy! She told The Guardian this week that there was "no way" she'd be listening to the UK girl group.
Cher, who finished fourth in last year's show, was speaking in the run up to the release of her debut single 'Swagger Jagger' this weekend.
She said scornfully: "I didn't listen to Girls Aloud growing up, no way. Too cheesy, man! I listened to grime, garage, bashment."
The singer admitted to wanting to perform different songs on last year's show, saying: "If I had my way, I'd be rapping a Lil Wayne track every week."
With the youngster turning 18 today, she showed no signs of shedding her hard exterior. "This is my life and I won't let anyone make me out to be a joke," she said. "Things still hurt me, but I prefer not to show it. That's probably why people think I'm so hard-faced."
Cher added: "Most of the lyrics [I like] are about people not quite understanding you. I call it fightback music."
Cher's debut single 'Swagger Jagger' is out for download on July 31.
