X Factor producers are reportedly planning big changes to this year's show, which will see the singing contest turn more into a reality show along the lines of Big Brother and The Only Way Is Essex. Show bosses reportedly want to "sex up" the show, and are encouraging romance and drama on set.
The Sun reports that this year's X Factor bootcamp - to be held in August - will take place in a luxurious London mansion, complete with swimming pool.
And just like all the previous stages of the show, there'll be cameras in every corner of the location to ensure not a second of action is missed.
The insider told the tabloid: "They will be bringing in inflatables and plenty of booze. They want it to be a cross between Big Brother and The Only Way is Essex as they feel the public has tired of the original X Factor format."
We reported previously how the show's new exec producers - including former I'm A Celebrity boss Beth Hart - wanted to turn the contestant into the 'new Big Brother'.
A source said at the time: “We’re exposing everything. The contestants know they are being filmed at all times but by putting the cameras out of sight they might drop their guard.”
Another change will see the judges put in charge of the contestants’ appearance as well as their song selection, in the hope of innovating the show's format.
The source added: “It’s a bit like America’s Next Top Model. The judges will decide if they want a contestant to dye their hair or chop it all off. I’m sure there will be disagreements, especially in Louis’ group!”
And those secret cameras are already up paying for themselves, catching some light handed auditionees pinching make up and perfume backstage at the auditions!
