US R&B singer Kelly Rowland has praised Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell’s "constructive" judging style, saying she hopes to follow their approach on The X Factor this year. Kelly joins the current series of the reality show as a judge alongside Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos.

The trio will make their debut on the ITV1 megahit with the only returning panelist Louis Walsh next month.

Speaking about the show and former judges, Kelly said she found Cheryl Cole constructive and Simon Cowell honest and her judging style would be similar.

”It would definitely be constructive," Kelly said about her judging style. "That’s what I really like about watching Cheryl Cole. I feel like she’s very constructive as a judge.”

She added: "I think sometimes Simon [Cowell] is very honest. That’s what I like about watching him.”

Meanwhile the former Destiny's Child singer insisted she wasn't nervous about being compared to her predecessor Cheryl by the media. Already both Kelly and Tulisa's style at the auditions have been linked to the former X Factor judge, but the 'Commander' singer said there was room for everyone to be "fabulous"

"Cheryl has her style and I have mine – and we can both be fabulous at the same time," Kelly said before this year's series.

The X Factor 2011 airs later this year on ITV1.
