Former X Factor colleagues Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell have had no contact with one another since Cole's axe from the US X Factor, it has been suggested. According to the Mail on Sunday, the pair have "moved on" and have no plans to reunite!
Cheryl was sacked from the American show back in May after filming just four auditions for the new US series, replaced by then co-host Nicole Scherzinger. Two months on and the pair are apparently still not talking, with Cheryl "severing all ties" with the music mogul.
A source close to the pair - who are currently both in LA - said they had "no plans to meet up either now or in the foreseeable future".
Speaking to the newspaper today, the insider added: "They have both moved on with their lives. She hasn’t spoken to him and they have no plans to see each other in America."
A source close to Simon revealed: "Cheryl is the last person on Simon Cowell’s mind at the moment. The party line if anyone in Simon’s group of friends is asked about her is to say, 'Cheryl is still a star'.He doesn’t want to talk about Cheryl and they know not to bring her name up.
"He will never openly criticise her but there is no relationship between them now."
Simon previously defended the decision to axe Cheryl from the show, saying last month: "The hardest thing to accept is that everyone has painted me as a monster because I embarrassed her, but the truth was I was protecting her. I just want people to be in the best place at the right time."
Cheryl will be introduced as a guest judge on the US series when it premieres in the states this autumn on September 21.
