An unimpressed Gary Barlow blasted a tuneless pair at The X Factor 2011 auditions in Liverpool this week, moaning at them for wasting his time. Meanwhile Louis Walsh became the second judge in this series of The X Factor to mistake a female auditionee for a bloke!
Louis made the same embarrassing error as Gary Barlow during the audition of duo Dito Balotelli and Lindsay in Liverpool this week. However while Gary Barlow was booed after his blunder in Birmingham last month, Louis just garnered laughter!
Speaking to the panel, Dito, real name Steven Wright, told the judges - consisting of new panellists Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Gary Barlow - how he had moved to Italy after being abandoned as a youngster by his parents.
However when it came to his partner's turn to speak Louis was a little confused. "I'm Lindsay and I'm 27," she said. "This will be my first time singing in front of people."
"Oh.... so you're a girl?" Louis Walsh replied to howls from the audience and a shriek of "LOUIS!" from Tulisa Contostavlos.
And it seems the confusion wasn't isolated to Louis, with one audience heckler shouting out "Finally someone asked!"
The pair went on to performs Adele's 'Rolling In The Deep' mixed in with a rap (something you'll never hear outside of The X Factor)
After performing and Louis comments were quickly forgotten, with Gary Barlow angrily ranted at the duo for wasting the panel's time.
"What the hell was that?" he moaned.
"Are you serious?" the Take That star continued to blast. "Surely you can't be taking this seriously?"
Let's hope the other judges are a little more kinder to Ditto and Lindsay....
The Xtra Factor will return to TV on ITV2 next month.
