Cheryl Cole 'working on third album' as she returns to UK 'to celebrate anniversary'

Despite proclaiming that her holiday to LA was just a "girls getaway", The Sun reports that Cheryl Cole has actually been spending her days in the studio recording material for her third album. The Geordie singer however will be returning to the UK today - to celebrate her anniversary with ex-hubby Ashley Cole.

The pair tied the knot five years ago today, and despite divorcing last year the newly reunited couple are keen to celebrate that fact regardless. "He wants romantic time to cuddle up with her,’ a source told the Daily Star yesterday. "It’s all very tight. She’s intending to fly back at the last minute."

But the Geordie singer showed no signs of changing her ways, putting her career before her relationship once again.

28-year-old Cheryl has spent the past week recording at the famous studios under the Sunset Marquis hotel, working on new material for a third album due out later this year.

"Cheryl has loved working at the studios," a source blabbed to The Sun. "Some of the female singers that have worked there before are her all-time heroes."

Cyndi Lauper, Chaka Khan, Sheryl Crow and Madonna are all said to have recorded tracks at the venue.

"It's been the perfect place for Cheryl to plunge head-first back into work again," the source added.
