A London based singer who has become a sensation by uploading her videos onto YouTube will be taking to the stage on The X Factor later today. Born in London, Singer-songwriter Nike Jemiyo lists the likes of Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera and Lauryn Hill as her inspirations.
The talent musician has been playing and writing music from the age of 7, having studied at The Centre for Young Musicians, Pimlico. During her time at the Musical Institute Nike performed at venues including St John's Smiths Square, The Young Vic and The Broadway Theatre to name a few.
The singer has previously released singles but failed to crack it as a big time soloist, instead building up a big fan base online thanks to social networking sites and blogs such as our own.
Described as "an eclectic mix of soul, rnb and electro pop" by her critics, Nike will be hoping to impress the likes of Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland during today's final day of auditions in Liverpool.
An insider said: "This girl has oodles of talent, she's sure to make 'The X Factor' trip to Liverpool worth it for all the judges."
And we've been tipped off that Nike can't wait to meet new X Factor judge Kelly Rowland, having covered the US singer's songs on her YouTube channel.
The X Factor 2011 auditions start in Liverpool at 10AM today.
