New X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos' cousin and N-Dubz bandmate Dappy Contostavlos has said he's proud of her new job on the show. Speaking at T4 On The Beach at the weekend, Dappy however suggested he'd be more honest as a judge - which is why he'll never be asked!
The outspoken hip hop star told BANG! showbiz that it was "the best thing to to happen to the show" to have a self-made star on the panel, in a dig at former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole who rose to fame on reality series Popstars: The Rivals.
“I’m so proud of Tulisa. It’s great to have someone on there from a hard background. They needed someone brutal on it to tell it how it is," Dappy explained. “It’s the best thing that’s happened. It’s great that such a homegrown act who hasn’t had no help in the past is now good enough to go on an ‘X Factor’ panel and judge other acts.
"She’s going to go on there and be brilliant.”
While Dappy reckons that his cousin Tulisa will be "brutal" on the show, he said he thought he'd be even more honest - so much so that producers would never have him on the series.
He added@: “I would never be allowed to go on it because I would just be really honest and if I thought someone was s**t I would tell them.
“If someone’s good then praise them because if they’re good then they deserve it.”
