X Factor boy group JLS have had to pull out of T4 On The Beach today due to 'technical problems'. The annual beachside festival however did see other X Factor stars take to the stage, including Cher Lloyd who performed new track 'Swagger Jagger' live for the first time.
Xtra Factor host Olly Muyrs was also on the bill, alongside X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos and her N-Dubz bandmates. The likes of The Wanted, Nicola Roberts and McFly joined them all for a thankfully sunny day of live music, which was broadcast on Channel 4.
More than 50,000 music fans - including a number of TellyMix competition winners - packed out the beach in Weston-Super-Mare on the Somerset coast.
JLS were forced to pull out of the show earlier today, just hours before being due on stage. "We regret to inform you that JLS will not be able to perform at T4 On The Beach today due to production problems," a message on the group's Facebook read. Blaming the exit on sound checking issues, the message added: "JLS are gutted they are unable to perform on stage today and are sorry to fans who have travelled to see them but this situation was out of their control."
Band member Aston wrote: "Its true we ain't on 2day, UNO we r a live singin act so them not giving us a soundcheck and able to prepare means we can't go on for this Special performance we had planned for u I'm sorry everyone!! Didn't wana let the most important people u guys down!! Love Ax. [sic]"
JB added: "Gutted can't perform at T4OTB 🙁 sorry to everyone who came out to see us and queued up!!its not faaaaaaair!Jaybes x [sic]"
Showing off his superior literacy skills, Marvin said: "We are SO sorry that we are not performing. It's something that was beyond our control. As a 4 piece live singing band there is no way we can do such a huge show without a sound check or camera rehearsal."
Meanwhile Olly Murs kicked things off with his track Thinking Of Me, fresh from the latest round of X Factor auditions in London on Friday. The cheeky Essex lad followed up with his new track Busy, out for download next month.
Cher Lloyd meanwhile had a less pleasant reception with boos from the crowd as she took to the Sunsmart Sessions stage. Speaking before performing her debut track 'Swagger Jagger', Cher said: "I'm very nervous but I'm also very excited... probably more nerves at this point."
New X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos however showed this year's hopefuls not only how to sing but how to perform as she and N-Dubz band mates Dappy and Fazer closed the show this evening.
