New X Factor judge Tulisa Contstavlos has revealed that the show's veteran panellist Louis Walsh has been helping her out on the show during her first set of auditions. Speaking at Wireless festival this weekend, the N-Dubz star added that she "can't wait" to find out which category she'll be mentoring this year.
Louis and Tulisa hit it off with each other from the first audition in Birmingham last month. "Me and Louis are definitely new BFFs, we get along really well," she said. "With me being the youngest judge and a new judge he kind of mentored me and helped me get into the swing of things and get used to the role."
With Take That star Gary Barlow taking up the role as the panel's "meanie" and Kelly Rowland demanding perfection from the contestants, Tulisa has found herself playing the "nice judge" on this year's panel, relating to the younger hopefuls.
Speaking about stepping out onto the stage for the first auditions, Tulisa explained: "It took me a little bit of time to find my feet, it was quite scary and a lot of pressure but slowly but surely I feel like I'm embracing the role.
"I feel like I’m actually doing a job now rather than being judged, because I feel like I’m a judge being judged by the nation!"
The singer, who has been in the industry since the age of 11, was keeping quiet about which acts had caught her eye so far, saying only: "There's been a few acts that I’ve spotted and they're all in different categories, I can’t wait to find out who I’m going to be mentoring."
