The X Factor 2011 is set to be held at Wembley Arena, it has been claimed. The live final in December could be watched by around 12,500 fans at the London venue in a bid to make the show even bigger than before and, in another twist, Simon Cowell has "pledged" to be there too!
For the last few years the live shows of The X Factor and sister show Britain’s Got Talent have been held at the small Fountain Studios location in Wembley, which has just 800 or so seats, leaving fanas queuing up for up to 12 HOURS outside in order to get a chance to see the finalists live.
We first revealed back in May that Simon Cowell wanted a big venue for the live shows, with contestants performing to more people during their audition than the later stages of the competition.
An insider told The Sun: "There may have been some concerns about the change in the judging panel, but viewers will forget all of that when they see the new-look show and final.
"We are very excited about making it bigger and better - with a bigger venue, bigger-name guests and more audience members and celebrities than ever before."
According to the paper, the final will air on December 10 and 11, meaning that the show won't be competing for this year's Christmas number one spot.
Meanwhile the auditions are also set to get ramped up, with this year's London X Factor auditions being held at the O2, we exclusively revealed in May. The 23,000 seat arena in the heart of Greenwich will see thousands of X Factor fans flock to the area next week.
Auditions for The X Factor 2011 continue tomorrow in Cardiff with Louis Walsh and new judges Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos.
