Speaking to The Sun's Buzz magazine this week, new Xtra Factor host Olly Murs has given his views on the panel. Describing new 'head judge' Gary Barlow as a "meanie", Olly - who finished the show as runner up in 2009 - said he found the new line up "much more current".
This year's X Factor sees three new judges join Louis Walsh, with Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos all taking their first steps onto Britain's biggest show.
And it's not only the judges that have changed, with Olly Murs co-hosting the Xtra Factor alongside Caroline Flack for the first year. Speaking about the new judging line up, Olly revealed that with Simon gone, it seems Gary Barlow has taken his role as the hard-to-impress judge. “Gary is being a meanie, he’s honest and to the point. He’s not going to lie," he tells Buzz
Overall, it seems that Olly is definitely a fan of the new look judging panel. “What’s so interesting this series is that we have a judging panel that feels much more current.” Is it a case of out with the old and in with the new?
