Cheryl Cole is reportedly considering a return to The X Factor here in the UK next year, following her sacking from the US version. According to reveal magazine, Cheryl is only going to return "on her terms" while Simon Cowell is said to be more than happy for the singer to rejoin the panel.
"Cheryl's considering going back to UK X Factor next year, but strictly on her own terms," a source close to the Girls Aloud star told the magazine. "She's had preliminary discussions. Simon is very keen to have her back, not least because he was totally shocked at the public backlash against him after he dropped her."
The source continued: "Cheryl and Simon are talking again, even though she was ignoring his calls after the shambles over the US show. It's certainly not warm and lovely, but Cheryl is being very clever and knows not to permanently burn bridges.
"She's fully aware that a lot of her advertising deals and associations with brands have come about because of her X Factor role."
We're not sure how Tulisa Contostavlos or Kelly Rowland will feel about this news!
Meanwhile Ashley Cole has been accused of trying to "jolt" Cheryl into having feels for him. A source said: "Ashley is desperate to make Cheryl jealous. He wants to jolt her into having feelings for him.
"Despite being on holiday with the boys and chatting with other girls, he's constantly in touch with Cheryl, texting her and trying to cheer her up - it's very strange."
The X Factor 2011 auditions continue next week in Cardiff. The show returns to ITV1 in August.
