X Factor's Cher Lloyd has revealed she now sees Simon Cowell has her mentor after admitting to not speaking to Cheryl Cole since the final of The X Factor last December. Speaking on Radio 1 yesterday, a nervous Cher said she was still in close contact with The X Factor boss.
"I ain't seen Cheryl since the show," Cher said, "I think she's busy with her own stuff."
Asked if she hadn't heard from her former mentor, Cher confirmed: "Nope"
The 17-year-old, who releases her debut single Swagger Jagger on July 31, revealed however: "I still talk to my main man Simon," and agreed with show host Scott Mills that the music mogul is her new mentor.
Meanwhile speaking about going back to her home town of Malvern in Worcestershire, Cher said: "I do get some funny looks. Lots of people stop me and ask me how I am." The youngster joked: "I thought of buying a chicken suit."
Despite not having released a single record yet it seems as though the teenager is already raking in the money, boasting on the show: "I brought me dad a range rover sport for father’s day, he loves it he does."
But the down to earth singer confessed to finding one aspect of showbiz life difficult to adjust to - the food! "I like my fish and chips me," Cher told Scott, "Sushi... I don't understand it! Fish 'n' chips, burgers, chicken nuggets all the way"
Cher also said she'd love to tour with her debut album, which still doesn't have a release date.
A spokesperson for the show said: “The judges do not continue to mentor the contestants after the show.
“They all have their own management teams who look after them.”
