Cheryl Cole turns to astrologer Russell Grant to recover from X Factor 'nightmare'

Cheryl Cole

Worried friends of depressed Cheryl Cole have reportedly turned to astrologer Russell Grant to help the Girls Aloud star recover from the 'nightmare' of The X Factor. In one of the most dubious stories related to Cheryl's X Factor axe, Russell has apparently sent the Geordie singer three stones in a silk purse.

According to The Sun, Cheryl's "pals" came up with the idea after Cheryl's former X Factor colleague Paula Abdul had recommended the bizarre therapy.

Russell told the tabloid: "Cheryl needs this at the moment. I feel sorry for her. I think she has been really let down."

The gems sent are amethyst, which "protects from psychic attack"; Tiger's Eye, which brings "protective energy"; and fluorite, to "dissipate nervous energy".

An insider revealed: "Cheryl's friends have been really concerned. They told Russell to send her whatever he thought she would need."
