The X Factor 2011 auditions kicked off a three day stay in Manchester yesterday and despite the rain more than 5,000 fans filled the not particularly spacious EventCity venue to see some outstanding talent. The judges were on fire and the acts were quite literally amazing.
Introducing the judges for the day and it was Louis who appeared to be getting the most love from the audience, with Dermot introducing him by saying: "There could be a nuclear bomb and he'd still be here!"
The acts at the first audition show yesterday were some of the best that The X Factor has seen, with a few standouts that are sure to make the live shows.
We're not going to spoil anything for you so we won't reveal too much, other than to say look out for girl performing Glee's take on Somebody To Love when the auditions air, it was spectacular!
Unfortunately for some of the acts however Gary Barlow was more harsh than ever, with some truly brutal put downs, telling one act: "You are everything this competition doesn't need. You have NO talent at all."
You do not want to miss that audition when the show airs this autumn.
Other highlights of the day included two pairs of Jedward wannabes, a diva who had the whole crowd singing along to Respect by Aretha Franklin and a band who could well become the first group to win The X Factor.
