This year's X Factor judging panel may have only visited Glasgow and Birmingham so far but they're already fed up with hearing hopefuls singing Adele tracks. Judge Louis Walsh today moaned about "practically everyone" trying to tackle songs such as Rolling In The Deep and Make You Feel My Love.
The judges and audience even groaned when one hopeful said she was going to sing Adele. with Take That star Gary Barlow asking: “Are you sure you’re up to it?”
Louis Walsh said after Monday's auditions: “So far it’s been Adele overkill. I love her, she’s fabulous – but you have to be really good if you are going to take on an Adele song.
“Most people just aren’t up to the task.”
However one hopeful did wow the crowd at the auditions with an Adele track - despite not wanting to sing it. 21-year-old Jade Richards was asked to perform Someone Like You after the judges were unconvinced by her first track. Despite the "Adele overkill" the judges were left in (good) tears by the performance.
Other favourite songs at this year's auditions include Jessie J.
