None of the Britain's Got Talent 2011 judges predicted which of the finalists would win this year, it has been revealed. The judges, who made their predictions before the live shows started on Monday, predicted that either Ronan Parke, James Hobley or New Bounce would win the show.
Revealing their predictions on ITV2's Britain's Got More Talent, Amanda and Michael McIntyre both predicted Ronan Parke would top the public vote. David Hasselhoff meanwhile tipped 11-year-old dancer James Hobley while Simon Cowell had expected New Bounce to win.
The music mogul said: "It was clear a singer was going to win, I'm not surprised [Jai] won. The final performance he just gave after he won... it was stunning."
Simon added: "The series has wacky and unpredictable but as always... it's ended in a good place."
The end result was very close - with just 2.5% separating first placed Jai McDowall from second place Ronan.
Meanwhile the show's hosts Ant and Dec also revealed their predictions. Dec had followed Amanda and Michael's lead and predicted runner up Ronan Parke, while Ant had gone out on a limb and tipped Up and Over It to win the show.
