24-year-old singer Jai McDowall has been crowned the winner of Britain's Got Talent 2011, beating strong favourite Ronan Parke. The singer, who performed To Where You Are on tonight's final, topped the public poll in tonight's final show and will go on to perform for the Queen at this year's Royal variety show.
The singer will also headline the Britain's Got Talent 2011 live tour and pick up a more than handsome £100,000 prize.
After being announced the winner Jai told hosts Ant and Dec: "I feel absolutely amazing, fantastic, this so much more than a dream."
Youngster Ronan Parke, who was tipped by the bookies to win the show, said: "I've loved it! I just want to say thanks to everyone who votes, thanks so much."
He added: "Congratulations Jai!"
Judge Amanda Holden however wasn't as happy with the result, saying: "I really wanted Ronan Parke to win, but I don't want to take away from Jai's special night."
Simon Cowell added: "It was clear a singer was going to win, I'm not surprised he won. The final performance he just gave after he won... it was stunning."
It was revealed on Britain's Got More Talent that Ronan and Jai were separated by just 2.5% of the final vote.
Young boy group New Bounce, who closed tonight's final performance show with 'Ain't No Sunshine', finished in third place. The remainder of the top 10 finalists finished the show as follows:
4. Razy Cogonea
5. Michael Collings
6. Paul Gbegbaje
7. Steven Hall
8. James Hobley
