Ronan Parke has hit out at claims that he has been coached by Simon Cowell and his Syco reocrd label for the past two years. Speaking ahead of today's Britain's Got Talent grand final, the 12-year-old singer said the allegations were just silly' comments from 'jealous' people.
“I have not been coached by anyone to do with Simon. I have never met Simon in my life," the youngster told The Mirror. “I have been coached by a singing teacher in Norwich that we pay for.
“No one has paid for our clothes or anything like that. People are being really silly and jealous.”
Simon Cowell was forced to comment on the allegations live on last night's final semi-final, saying they were utter lies and describing it as a deliberate spear campaign against Ronan.
“I think it’s great that Simon Cowell is putting in the effort to get the police involved and everything. And I’m happy that they’ve said it’s not true, because it’s definitely not," Ronan continued.
“I think it’s quite funny if I’m honest, because none of it’s true. The fact that they think I’m being styled by people – I wouldn’t even let my mum style me, so I definitely wouldn’t let strangers style me.”
Meanwhile a source on the show told the newspaper: “It looks like one individual with an axe to grind. We’re hoping the police will be able to make an arrest soon and bring this malicious liar to justice.”
Ronan won the public vote with his performance of Make You Feel My Love on Monday's first semi final, winning himself a place in tonight’s live final.
Britain's Got Talent 2011 finishes tonight at 7PM on ITV1.
