Jai McDowall and Steven Hall next acts through to Britain’s Got Talent final

Jai McDowall

Jai McDowall and Steven Hall became the latest two acts through to the Britain's Got Talent 2011 live final tonight. Jai McDowall went through automatically after topping the public vote following his a performance of Evanescence's 'Bring Me to Life'. Meanwhile Steven Hall beat off Edward Reid in the judges' vote.

As the next two highest voted for acts behind Jai McDowall, it was up to Amanda, Simon, David and Michael to decide which would go through.

David Hasselhoff said: "Steven, you were very entertaining, very funny, there's a great place for you on this variety on this show... but you weren't as creative as Edward. Ed, I think you have a fantastic voice and I think you have the potential to breakout and be a good star."

Michael McIntyre commented: "There is so much people in the mix, I cannot split these two acts because I think what they do is quite similar and equally entertaining, I don’t know...okay, I love you Edward but imp going to go with Steven."

Meanwhile Amanda added: "First of all I’m stunned Out of the Blue weren't in this section! This is my worst nightmare because I love you both because it completely appeals to my sense of humour. Edward, Steven, you were both even better than your audition. If I’m going to be honest and go with who I was genuinely entertained with more, I’m going to say Steven."

This left Simon with the casting vote, with him telling the pair: "I’m going with what I believe the public will want and I’m going to go with Steven."

Speaking to Ant and Dec after his exit, Edward said: "I still feel good, I still feel like the luckiest person in Britain. It’s been phenomenal."

Meanwhile finalist Steven told Ant: "I never imagined being saved by Simon in a million years, I've certainly been preparing some for the final!"

The Britain's Got Talent 2011 live shows continue tomorrow night at 7:30PM!
