Louis Walsh has lifted the lid on the ongoing war of words in the press between Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole, saying that the pair will never patch things up! Speaking to The Mirror today, Louis said that Cheryl had been "keeping herself to herself" and had "moved on" from The X Factor.
Louis said: “Cheryl and Simon will never patch things up. Absolutely not. No, no, no, no and no. I’ve been speaking to Cheryl all day and there is no way I can sort those two out.”
The 58-year-old Irish music mogul was in Birmingham yesterday for the start of The X Factor auditions. Instead of being joined by Cheryl, Simon and Dannii however it was all change, with Tulisa, Kelly Rowland and Gary Barlow sitting to his left.
On Cheryl, Louis added: “[She] is keeping herself to herself and is being really strong. She’s moved on and will come back even more fantastic than before. X Factor won’t be the same without her and it’s such a shame the way things ended. I’m really going to miss her.”
Meanwhile Simon Cowell reportedly told a production source: “Cheryl is still my friend and always will be.
“The door is always open to her and, in time, I hope she’ll realise that I am not the bad guy.”
Last night however Simon Cowell seemed to be repeatedly joking about the incident, being very indiscreet when telling one contestant: "There has been a lot of whining about things this week but you made the most of your opportunity.”
Cowell went on to joke about firing the show's co-host Ant, saying: “That’s show business," with Ant replying: “You’ve got it in for Geordies this week, haven’t you?”
