Music mogul and X Factor boss Simon Cowell has said that he hopes Cheryl Cole fans will forget about Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole in six months. It was finally revealed yesterday after much speculation that the singer would NOT be taking part on in The X Factor 20111.
Despite reported offers of £2.5 million on the table from ITV for the sacked X Factor USA judge to return to the UK series, Cheryl will instead be replaced by Tulisa from hip-hop group N-Dubz. US star Kelly Rowland and Take That singer Gary Barlow also join the panel, whilst Louis Walsh is the only returning judge.
A source told The Mirror today: "Six months from now viewers will forget Cheryl.
“Simon offered her an olive branch to come back but she didn’t take it. Now it is business as usual as far as he is concerned.
“He hopes that in six months it could be ‘Cheryl who?’ and people will be talking about the new judges instead. He is friends with Cheryl but he doesn’t think the show needs her for success.”
Meanwhile a source close to Cheryl revealed that the 'Promise This' singer has had plenty of other offers from top telly shows. “She will be back on TV this year. She has had so many offers and her management are considering them," the insider revealed.
“Cheryl was never going to take the UK X Factor job. She knew about the line-up two weeks ago and there’s no way she would take a job off someone else. Yet they have been ringing her since Friday, constantly extending the deadline for her to reconsider.”
Simon Cowell is currently in the UK acting as a judge on the Britain's Got Talent live shows - but he's still yet to comment on the line up changes!
The X Factor 2011 auditions begin tomorrow in Birmingham.
